Lasagne II: Classic meat sauce
Written by: Delta
I’ll be honest — I sometimes cheat,
My secret’s in this spicy treat.
A pre-mixed spice adds all the heat,
Quick and tasty, hard to beat.
In goes oil, then onions, garlic chopped fine,
They sizzle and soften — a fragrant sign.
Next comes beef, give it a whack,
Break it down, no turning back.
No big lumps, keep up the fight,
Let it cook ‘til the color’s right.
Now add tomatoes, chopped up small,
Or sauce from a jar — it's your call.
Perhaps a pinch of salt feels nice,
To wake it up and stir the spice.
Simmer low, don't rush the heat,
Now you've got the perfect feast.
